I wunt a real brudder!

We've had some unfortunate news about Jax and his health. He has a ruptured disk in his neck. It is classified as a disease and is sometimes found in small, flat nose, full-bred dogs. Jax has been on muscle relaxers and on a no-exercise restriction. We've also put him on a diet. He's been doing really well.

Our vet sent me pictures of some rescue dogs (a female pug & a male brussels griffon) that hooked up before getting fixed and they had puppies. All the puppies are taken, however, Bruce and I really liked the Brussels Griffon. They are little "monkey faced" dogs. Jax would love to have a brother.

Food, Friends & Shopping

John-Marc came in last night to visit us. It took him 4 hours to get here and drove through a snow storm.

I made Jamie Oliver's lamb shanks and they were amazing. John-Marc cooks with shanks a lot, but it was the first time I made them. We let Jax take a lick, then we threw it away. Bruce said it was cruel. Jax's eyes were almost popping out of his head.

Christmas this year was very different and passed me by. Bruce and I bought a new table/chairs and got a screaming deal. We braved the malls yesterday and bought some things we needed to replace. Jax got a new collar, leash & toy skunk.

Happy New Year to Everyone!

Back home

I'm back home to my Klepper men. They survived without me while I was in Kansas. Bruce took Jax to work each day and I'm sure it helped boost morale.
Ray has greatly improved and I'm happy that he is back home.
We have been getting snow and also the cold temperatures.

Jax the Wonder Dog

At our obedience class last night, the focus was on agility. Jax went through tubes, tires, weaving poles and flew over the hurdles amazingly. Several people from the class told me that Jax was incredible in agility. I was so proud of him. Our trainer told me that he would be excellent with the exception to Jax's weight. He is a little hefty and loves to eat. So, Bruce and I are going to work on limiting the treats, the egg yolks with truffle oil, the yogurt, the brie, etc. (the last 3 offenses are Bruce's weaknesses). He and the boy bond so tightly on the weekend that Bruce can't help but to spoil him.

Halloween and Jax

Bruce and I are getting ready for a Halloween party on Saturday. Bruce is wearing a mask from years past. Julie Jennings told Bruce to "please take off that mask so people can eat." Still indecisive on what I'll be wearing.
Jax had is 2nd night of Obedience classes and seems to really like it.
He's half starved, so when we get to class and he would recite a poem in Latin just to get a little snack. Yes, he's that smart. I guess he gets it from the company he keeps (Ha!).
